Who we are
An official chapter of the Cloud Security Alliance, run by volunteers, built for Metro Detroit's security community.
Champion cybersecurity excellence, foster collaboration and the exchange of ideas, and educate the current and future generation of risk practitioners, so together we can protect and safeguard our digital landscapes.
We do that through monthly meetings with practitioner speakers, a free and open membership, streamed and archived talks anyone can learn from, and scholarships that put Michigan students on a path into this field.

Founded in 2009, the Cloud Security Alliance is the world's leading nonprofit dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices for secure cloud computing. Its research is the reference point for practitioners, providers, and regulators worldwide.
Cloud Controls Matrix
The de facto controls framework for cloud assurance: 197 control objectives across 17 domains, paired with the CAIQ questionnaire used in thousands of vendor assessments.
CCSK Certification
The vendor-neutral Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge, covering cloud architecture, data security, governance, and application security. CSA also co-created the CCSP with ISC2.
STAR Registry
A free public registry where cloud providers publish their security assessments against the CCM, from self-assessment through third-party certification. Major providers worldwide maintain entries.
AI Safety Initiative
CSA's program for the AI era, developing practical guidance for deploying AI securely, responsibly, and in compliance, with working groups drawn from across the industry.
Local, volunteer-run, free to join
Chapters are how CSA's mission reaches real communities. Ours connects practitioners across the industries that define Southeast Michigan: automotive, energy, manufacturing, healthcare, and state government. The board is made up of working security professionals who volunteer their time.
Meetings are held monthly in Metro Detroit, streamed live, and archived so the content stays available to everyone. The chapter operates under member-accessible bylaws covering officer roles, elections, and finances.
